  1. I am so with you! I would die for mashed potatoes, but not so much for turkey.

  2. Sounds like you need our family's mashed potato recipe. Can you say sour cream, cream cheese, and a pound of butter? They are THE best mashed potatoes ever and I'm very picky about mine! Holler if you want it and I'll dig it up (wasn't my turn this year...don't exactly remember the proportions). My m-i-l's cousin is a cookbook author and major foodie in Denver. It's her creation. Ok, now I must have some for second breakfast...

  3. Usually by the time I get around to throwing away the food in my fridge, it's a week or two old, so that takes away the guilt!

  8. Definitely the life support system for stuffing and gravy! :-) Don't you have dogs?? That's what dogs are for - getting rid of that leftover turkey. They love it!

and thanks for your other post about giving to charity for Christmas, rather than gifts to ourselves. Half of our family wants to go the charity route and half a gift exchange - so that's what we'll do this year. Frankly, I'm pretty excited about the ducks, chickens, and geese that some poor families on the other side of the world are getting to help them even have an income.

I've always been of the opinion that every teenager should visit a third-world country for a few weeks to see how most of the world lives. Maybe then they'd realize it's not all about THEM or name brand they're wearing.
