ahhh, the neglect. so sorry. i actually hate going days without posting. you don't know what an awesome encouragement it is to hear from people who read this blog. i'm not narcissistic. pinkie swear. i work from my home. i live in me office (seriously… i could actually live here. there's a loft bed over my desk. i could easily stay in here for days.) and am oftentimes here from 7:30 in the morning until after midnight.
it's not all work though.
my days take me to california and dallas, illinois and kansas. utah…colorado…singapore and germany. heck i even recently met someone from my own back yard! i love my OLF. (on-line friends) i find that these are my friends who are poignantly transparent. shockingly vulnerable. diet-coke-shooting-from-my-nostrils-funny. and i love hanging out with them and enjoy hearing their hearts and peeking into the windows of their lives.
my blogging keeps me from going crazy as i wrestle with ideas or knowing how to execute a look on the computer… designing when i'm not feeling it… buckling under pressure or simply wanting to do unkind things to my boss (whom i sleep with, in case you're new here. he's my husband-boss, and frankly, sometimes that just flat-out su*ks). i hang out here in my office because it's my world. call me a hermit. i'm okay with that. i get out lots… i just happen to hang here more.
i rarely read a blog that i don't leave a little comment. usually it's not that little because most people who know me know i'm rarely short on words (every tuesday i manage to over-post-it), but i don't visit without a hello.
i don't know about you, but i think that's just being neighborly.
and i'm also an encourager, so that's part of my nature. but i figure, they went to the trouble to write… i can at least let them know they've been heard.
and sometimes a pithy comment can land you an unexpected surprise.
fancykimmy over at live fancy gave me kudos for a funny comment and made me feel like a queen for a day. then she invited me to guest blog for her next wednesday. talk about a leap of faith!! asking a relative total stranger to hijack your blog for a day. i think she's awesome, and you should hang out there next week (well, in addition to hanging out here…) because she's got fabulous guest bloggers (i'm not the only one blogging there, and i'm not, not, NOT braggin, okay??) and cool giveaways planned all week long.
even though i'm wickedly busy, i'm still striving to find time to visit. and i thank you from the bottom of my heart that you come here at all.
so welcome. glad you're here! say hello. i'd love to visit you, too.
WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #582
you are definitely an encourager and I am glad to have you as my other me! :)
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteUm, I don't want to call you a hermit, but I'm fond of the name Kermit. Will that do?
I too try to leave comments when I visit any blog. We aren't meant to "talk" and not get a response, you know?
You ARE an encourager and I appreciate you so much!
ReplyDeleteI don't always leave a response, because I just don't always have something to say, but I typically read ALL of your posts:)
No blog here....I just read to keep up on your life friend! Love ya
ReplyDeleteI love to leave comments too! I too live in my office here at home most of the day.
ReplyDeleteI watch a movie once a week with my husband in the family room but otherwise I am here. I have a big TV and a very comfortable sofa. I know that I would have a hard time with my dh being my boss but I totally understand because you are in the business together. I am going to go over and check out live fancy and hopefully catch you next Wednesday. Have a great weekend.
Last night, I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep, and I got a craving for Petro's. I don't think you guys have expanded to Germany yet :(
ReplyDeleteIm still reading... :)
