  1. Love this post and the theme of your blog. Fat Tuesday and Intl Women's Day... fun coincidence! A friend from way back used to celebrate "pancake Tuesday" on this day. I think it's a Canadian thing? Suddenly I want pancakes for dinner. SO NOT ON THE BEACH! Glad I wandered over from PINT. Cheers to you!

    oh that dinner sounds gooooood, can i get your recipe?

    Here's one as a downpayment, hahah!
    Rachael Rays Chinese Meatballs & spaghetti

    1 lb whole wheat spaghetti
    boiling water w/ salt in large pot

    meatballs:
    1 lb ground chicken
    1 small bunch scallions
    tomari soy sauce
    *also: reserve a coffee cupful of starch water from spaghetti boiling pot (for sauce later)
    1 egg
    vegetable oil

    Begin boiling water for noodles.
    Chop 2 scallions for meatballs (chop the rest for the stirfry)


    In mixing bowl
    2 Cups puffed rice cereal
    1 tsp chinese 5-spice powder
    Place scallions in bowl with salt and pepper, as well as a soy sauce splash, beaten egg, and 1 tsp 5-spice

    Crush 2 cups rice cereal in food processor...bread crumbs, then toss into bowl with previous ingredients
    (in separate pan, slightly toast your sesame seeds, watch closely, about 5 mins)

    Mix everthing in bowl by had then roll meatballs into 1-inch/walnut-sized balls.

    Place meatballs on greased cookie sheet.

    Bake 350*, when golden they're done

    Chop for Stir fry:
    Chop remaining scallions into 1-inch pieces
    2 handfuls pea pods, sliced
    1 cup chopped fresh spinach
    2 chunk-chopped bell peppers,
    Grated ginger root (about 1tsp)
    2 chopped cloves/garlic
    Drizzle of toasted sesame oil

    In large skillet, high heat bring 1/4 c oil to almostt smoking

    Grate in garlic and ginger ... let cook a couple of minutes...toss in 1 cup chopped spinach. Throw in veggies.
    Drain noodles and toss into veggies.

    Add 1/4 cup soy sauce, the starchy liquid and a drizzle of toasted sesame oil. Place in bowl and cover with toasted sesame seeds.

    Remove meatballs from oven and place over veggies and noodles
